Welcome to the Apple Keynote Event March 2016 Recap.

40 Years in 40 Seconds
The show began with a Video – “40 Years in 40 Seconds”.
It depicted 40 Years of Apple. Where they began, how they went through the years until now.
Normally we do not spend a lot of time looking back, but yes, we are about to celebrate Apple’s 40th Birthday.
– Tim Cook
Apple had a very tough time staying afloat for many of the early years, but thanks to iPhone, Apple is going strong. Apple will turn 40 on April 1st.
Tim also announced that Apple has finally made it to a big Milestone – 1 Billion Apple Devices being used around the world today.
FBI Dispute
Tim turned to the FBI Dispute in regards to the Government requesting Apple to make a way to bypass Security on iPhone so that they can catch the Terrorists.
This is good and fine, except for one issue – they are not using special iPhones that normal consumers don’t have. So having this ability is not “for the Terrorists”, its for everyone. Sure, the Government might say “its just to bring justice and stop Terrorists”, but where is the line drawn for others and their privacy? Not only that, but it would mean a powerful tool has been created and is – as Tech’s call it, “Out in the Open”. No matter what, it isn’t easy to keep from the public. Securing it is hard due to many variables. Some include hacking, disgruntled employee’s, misplace it, to name a few.
We strongly believe that we have a Responsibility to protect your Data, and protect your Privacy.
– Tim Cook
Apple feel strong in keeping the Government away from such powers that can kill off Privacy.
We will not Shrink from this Responsibility.
– Tim Cook
Environment
Source: Apple Stream2 Years ago, Apple announced they would attempt to make everything they do, better for the environment. This included having every Facility around the world run on 100% renewable energy.
2 years later, Apple has 93% of their Operations using renewable energy, 23 countries being at 100%, including Australia.
Apple also has made sure that the iPhone is 100% reusable and recyclable by using material that is easy to do so. They even created a machine to help assist them in easy pull apart and organization, and they named it Liam:
Health
ResearchKit
Apple has made Medical Research better for the future. When Apple first launched ResearchKit, they didn’t know how much it would explode into popularity and lots of data to help the Medical Community understand and better assist all sorts of diseases like Autism, Parkinson’s and Epilepsy.
Apple has a video that best demonstrates what ResearchKit is doing for the world:
CareKit
To help you have an active role in managing your own health, Apple created CareKit — an open source software framework enabling developers to build apps that help you manage your medical conditions. You will finally be able to co-assist yourself and your doctor/s by being able to regularly track your symptoms and medications, and even share the information with your care team for a bigger, better picture of your health, giving you a better understanding of your own health.
CareKit will be available in April.
