2. Home Button

Apple redesigned the Home Button to have Force Sensitivity.

The Home Button helps users with various tasks like Multitasking, Siri, TouchID etc. Now with the New Taptic Engine, it will be able to assist with new ways of notifying you like vibrating when you get a Notification or Phone Call.

3. iPhone 7 & 7 Plus Water/Dust Resistant

Apple have made the new phones Water & Dust Resistant, ensuring no issues occur in all types of situations.

The phones are rated “IP67 Protection Standard”.

4. Camera

Apple have upgraded and redesigned the phones cameras to try and become the best Smartphone Camera available.

The iPhone 7 Plus has also gone one better and has been fitted with Duel Lenses.

The Duel lens help with Optical zooming. One camera is a Wide-Angle Lens and the other is a Telephoto Lens.

The Camera has also been fitted with a Image Signal Processor (ISP) that helps with processing images you take. It calculates lighting, people, objects, white balance, focus etc. All in all, the ISP apparently does over 1 billion operations per photo at a speed of around 25 milliseconds.

The Specs:

  •     iPhone 7    |   iPhone 7 Plus
  • 12MP Camera |  x2 12MP Camera
  • Optical Image Stabilization

  • Wide Colour Gamut
  • Cinema Standard
  • Colour Management
  • 3D Touch

6. Audio

The phones have been fitted with Stereo Speakers for improved Sound Quality.

7. Ear Pods | 8. Wireless

This point has been the biggest controversy over the web and media for a few months now.

Apple announced that they have removed the “100 Year” old Analog Connector, becoming replaced with Lightening Cable or Wireless.

Apples goal is having more things wireless than plugged in.

The phones come with the new standard – Lightening connected Earpods. But to ease the pain for users, they have added a New Analog Adaptor in the box, rather than an extra accessory you must purchase.

There are now over 900 Million Lightening Connector devices.

What are Apples Reasons to do this? Well they broke it down to three points:

  1. Courage – Analog is very old now. Sound quality has increased with better technologies, so why continue using Analog?
  2. Space requirements – The size the connector is, takes up room that makes things harder to bring lighter, thinner phones that people currently demand. Having one connector to rule them all helps significantly.
  3. Great Audio – It goes back to point 1. Technology has allowed us to have much better audio quality that a Analog connection cannot achieve.

Apple AirPods

Apple have created new Wireless Earpods. These Earpods have been specially designed to maximize performance over a WiFi connection.

Apple installed a W1 Chip that helps process Audio and other functions on the device.

The pods have infrared sensors to detect when the pods are put in your ear. Even putting one in will have the W1 Chip optimize Audio for the one ear.

They also have Accelerometers to detect taps. This allows activation of things like Siri.

It also has beam formed Microphones to assist with noise cancellation by listening to noise around you and your own voice, maximizing the input.

The Battery holds 5 Hours of Listening and a Charging Box that holds a Charge for 24hrs.

9. Apple Pay

Apple have made sure that iPhone/Apple Watch and Apple Pay can work within Japan.

Japan uses their own type of NFC called FeliCa.
